The Sofitel Moorea Beach Resort (formerly the Sofitel Ia Ora) was recently renovated in October of 2006. It is a classic, picturesque Tahitian-style hotel. Because it was one of the first hotels on the island, it has one of the best beaches! Sofitel Moorea is situated on the edge of a magnificent lagoon, with views toward the island of Tahiti.

The resort features 111 luxurious bungalows built over the water, on the beachfront or surrounded by landscaped gardens. Facilities include two restaurants, a bar, a magnificent outdoor swimming pool, day spa, Jacuzzi and tennis courts. The Sofitel has one of the worlds most beautiful beaches and a variety of motorized and non motorized water activities can be arranged for guests.

Complimentary activites such as snorkeling, windsurfing, canoeing, tennis, volleyball, Tahitian dance lessons, pareo painting and tying demonstrastion, lei-making and basket weaving are offered on various days during the week.
