Le Meridien French Polynesia Marks its 10th Year Anniversary

Le Méridien Tahiti, which marks its 10th anniversary this year, celebrates

good food, creativity and the allure of French Polynesia with new Cooking Classes offered for 2008. Taking the resort’ commitment to culture to the next level, the new cooking classes offer guests hands-on instruction in culinary techniques used in dishes ranging from pastry creations to traditional Polynesian entrees. The new cooking classes add to Le Méridien Tahiti’s popular cultural offerings, including L’Atelier, the resort’s on-site artists space which offers painting workshops with artists-in-residence.

Le Méridien Bora Bora, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, is eagerly awaiting the birth of several baby green sea turtles this season at its renowned Turtle Sanctuary. Located in the resort’s own private lagoon, the Turtle Sanctuary provides much-needed protection to hawksbill, leatherback and green sea turtles while also educating guests and locals on the importance of marine turtles’ survival. Guests are encouraged to swim with the turtles in their natural environment as well as to “adopt” a turtle and track its progress on a special website devoted to the Turtle Sanctuary. The only effort of its kind in French Polynesia, Le Méridien Bora Bora’s Turtle Sanctuary celebrates its 6th anniversary this year.
