Close to Opunohu Bay on the northeast coast of the island, sheltered from the prevailing winds, the  InterContinental Resort and Spa Moorea is located voluptuously between the mountains and lagoon. Inspired by traditional Polynesian fare, the Beach Suite Bungalows are situated on a white sand beach gently sloping into the lagoon, under the shade of the coconut trees. They are 409 sq ft size, excluding the terrace. The lounge area (with convertible sofa bed) is separated from the bedroom.

The 17 Garden Suite Bungalows, the 50 Overwater and 28 Beach Suite Bungalows(also called "fare"), as well as the 48 Garden View Rooms, were all decorated with a concern of combining a respect for the local traditions with non-conspicuous contemporary luxury. Noble woods and natural materials were elegantly used in the decor. These include parquet or bamboo, Méranti of Indonesia partitions, mahogany and wicker furniture and natural coloured wall coverings. The furniture of distinguished and original lines, as well as objects made from Tahitian arts and crafts, (paintings, tapas...) compose a refined and harmonious ensemble and reinforce the Polynesian identity of this dream hotel. The only impediment to tradition are the "fare" and rooms are all provided with a very modern air-conditioning system.

The resort looks great and it is very spread out, it has a lot to offer and is a good choice for couple and families.  They have renovated the resort and I was very impressed with the decor of the rooms, I even liked the Lanai room for clients who are on a budget, they start at $250 nightly. They have the Dolphin program, a wonderful Spa, a great lagoon that your clients can snorkel in and see a wide variety of fish and even Sting Rays. They have a small beach in front and a small pool, they do offer beach activities. There are two Restaurants to choose from and they do offer complimentary shuttle to some restaurants. The location of this hotel, it is easy to get around to shops, restaurants and clients can walk to these.  They are no longer offering their Kid's club, they just did not get many inquiries for this program.  All rooms do offer air conditioning and they do offer connecting rooms for families.
